The National Program Partnership Group (NPPG)

Membership

The NPPG membership will be comprised of the following:

  • MHiMA Executive Members
  • State and Territory Mental Health Directors
  • State and Territory Transcultural Mental Health personnel, and
  • CALD Consumer and Carer Representatives

Terms of Reference

The NPPG will:

  • Provide a formal mechanism to ensure all States and Territories have an opportunity to contribute to the objectives of the MHiMA project and to the development of MHiMA's national strategic and implementation priorities.
  • Provide a formal mechanism to facilitate alignment of MHiMA's national strategic and implementation strategies with jurisdictional priorities.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to facilitate the implementation of MHiMA's strategic and implementation priorities.
  • Provide input and advice to the MHiMA Executive.

Method of operation

In its operation the NPPG will:

  • Develop partnerships within and where appropriate between jurisdictions to enhance service responsiveness to CALD mental health needs.
  • Consult with relevant stakeholders including CALD consumer and carers, government and non-government organisations on CALD mental health needs in each jurisdiction.
  • Recommend and support opportunities for collaboration.
  • Share information about current initiatives in multicultural mental health.
  • Report on jurisdictional achievements in implementation of and progress in actioning national strategies.
