Community workers and advocates are invited to attend a free information forum Essential Services as part of Anti-Poverty Week 2008 to raise awareness of issues affecting consumers in financial hardship.

Topics will include:

• what to do if you have an energy or water complaint

• financial literacy

• food insecurity

• energy and water efficiency

• customer assistance programs

• No Interest Loan Schemes

• emergency help

• rebates

Keeping essential services within reach - Clare Petre, Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW

Financial Literacy - Michaela Holloway, Australian Securities and Investments Commission

Food Insecurity - Elizabeth Millen, Sydney South West Area Health Service

No Interest Loan Schemes - Lyn Trindall, NILS NSW Coordinator

Fine tuning energy audits - Tricia Doherty, Integral Energy
