Module A: An Overview of Better Access Module B: GP-Psychiatry Liaison – getting it right Module C: Building the local mental health team
The modules will cover information about the current Medicare arrangements, expectations and roles of providers, use of care plans and outcome tools and referral options available to providers will be examined and discussed. Promote awareness of new and updated psychiatry items through the provision of information on Medicare Item numbers, facilitated small-group case study exercises, and examining referral pathways and the requirements of mental health care plans and assessments. The last module has been developed to foster collaboration and communication between providers, through the use of facilitated small-group exercises of clinical scenarios, examination and discussion of the pitfalls and benefits of team-based care, and networking exercises.
