Educating for Effective Participation: Citizenship & Work

Education faces the challenge of equipping young people to effectively participate in, and contribute to, a rapidly changing society. In Australia, as in other countries, there is a renewed interest in civics and citizenship education as a way to increase engagement in civic society and contribute to greater social cohesion. At the same time, education and training are recognised internationally as essential to successful workforce participation, individual well-being and national productivity.
