This seminar will provide workers with practical strategies on how to address stigma when working with ethnic families. Led by international guest psychiatrist Dr. Maurizio Andolfi.

It is suited to family workers, psychiatrists, mental health workers, social workers, psychologists, and others working with families where there is a disability in the family, including mental illness.

Dr. Andolfi has a long history in practicing family therapy. He is professor at the Department of Psychology at the University “La Sapienza” in Rome and has undertaken extensive research in family psychotherapy, including a study on “the quality of life of immigrant families in Italy” and “working with immigrant families and mixed couples”. Since 1993 he has been the Scientific Director of the School of Specialization in Family Psychotherapy, Rome.

Dr Andolfi has also published numerous books and book chapters, including the well renowned “Please help me with this family” (1994).
