Violence against women in refugee communities

The Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV), administered by Sydney West Area Health Service, NSW Health, is hosting a special free workshop for health workers, interagency workers, bilingual and ethno-specific workers who provide services to women and children who experienece domestic violence.

This one-day course will be held in Parramatta in Sydney on 22 June 2007.

It will outline prevention and intervention strategies that effectively address the needs of refugee women who experience violence.

The course is designed to reflect the diversity of cultural and social considerations that matter when working with refugee women, their children and their protection preferences and contexts.

This course has been developed in collaboration with industry partners.
